Description
Pepitas are high in protein, phosophorous and iron. Pepita stands for a Mexican preparation for pumpkin seeds. They are eaten as a snack and are sometimes ground to thicken green pipian sauces or can be sprinkled on dishes as a garnish.
The nuts were fresh and ready to use. I make my own granola and use a not of nuts and seeds. These pepitas were unsalted (I like that) and there wasn’t a single husk or shell in the bag.

I have been ordering these raw organic green pepitas from Nuts in Bulk for several years, and I have always pleased with the product and service. The only minor disappointment I have experienced is the recent unavailability of the four pound size (although I think the one pound packages may be less expensive by unit).

I love them raw and I love them roasted... My favorite recipe for fry pan slow roasting (stove top) is:
1). a couple teaspoons of olive oil, 2). a couple cups of Pepitas... stirring every so often enough to start browning them. Once they start browning nicely, liberally add: 3). 10+ good shakes of SMOKED paprika (I like a LOT), 4). some salt and 5). dried chopped onion. (or skip the regular salt and add onion salt).
You may need to a add teeny bit more oil and you can always adjust more flavor by adding extra spices at the end. That's it! Chomp away!
Try adding just a touch of powdered garlic... or parmesan. Seriously addictive.

I was told by a 77 year old Lady that pumpkin seeds help with your prostrate, kidneys, and bladder. She stated she knew from personal experience about the kidneys. I ordered them and recieved them timely manner. They were fresh and I packaged them in smaller bags and placed them in the freezer. I left one bag in the fridge, and was told to eat a 1/4 cup a day. I can not say at this point if they are helping health wise, but I do enjoy the eating them.
