Very sweet tangy fruit

I had heard of this fruit, but this is my first time tasting it. The flavor is good, tangy. The pieces are very sweet, like sugary candy.

Good flavor but too sweet. I do not think it is necessary to add sugar to this item. They are delicious though, just overly sweet.

Sugary alright
April 9, 2012
Not very crazy about these. But please note I ordered these on a whim. I like starfruit, so I figured this would be a welcome addition to my diet. Unfortunately they are, in my view, unpleasant to eat. They are very sugary and they have pretty much the consistency of a sugar cube. Unlike the kiwis, which are good for munching, these are a bit overpowering and I don't pack em with my lunches. A better use would probably be to break them into small pieces for cereal or baking, but at that point they are very similar to muslix-style dates. So they are not bad per se, just not good for directly snacking on. I'll use them in something, but won't get them again.
Pros
  • Good source of sugar
Cons
  • Too sweet
  • Unpleasant consistency
